Tattoo removal requires an average of 8 to 12 laser treatments spaced 10 to 12 weeks apart. Tattoos that are lighter in over all tone, density and those done in a shaded/gray wash style typically require fewer laser treatments.
PARTIAL TATTOO REMOVAL
In some cases, you may love your tattoo with the exception of a particular part. Since the laser is very precise, we are able to treat specific areas with little to no affect to the remaining tattoo.
HOW DOES THE TATTOO REMOVAL PROCESS WORK?
Tattoo pigments are a foreign substance that your white blood cells naturally attack in an attempt to rid from the body. Our blood cells are miniscule in comparison to the ink particles which prevent them from eliminating the foreign intruder.
Lasers generate ultra short pulses of light energy that pass safely through the skin directly targeting the tattoo pigment. This pulse of light acts as a sledgehammer to the ink, creating a micro explosion of ink particles. These shattered fragments are now able to be carried away by macrophage blood cells through our lymphatics and finally eliminated from the body. This process takes several weeks to months and requires multiple treatments.
